Our rapidly growing team is strongly innovative and cooperates with academic as well as industrial partners. Our research interest spans from purely fundamental research, where we are pursuing the understanding of the physical and chemical processes taking place in the deposition plasma and the growing coating, to applied research, where we are preparing new coatings with unique properties often in cooperation and on-demand of our commercial partners. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the research, students will familiarize themselves with a wide scale of deposition and analytical techniques used in plasma as well as in condensed matter physics providing them with a broader and in-depth understanding of studied issues. The students are encouraged to carry out their research partly abroad during research stays owing to active collaboration with colleagues from all over Europe.
